The Golf moves generations since 1974 on our streets and in our hearts. We celebrate a special Birthday of the Volkswagen Golf. He is and was the number one for millions in five decades. We hold many spare parts for the Golf up to the Mk5. Each generation has its own special features and stories - we're telling some of them to mark the anniversary.
A new era was dawning: With water-cooled engines and front-wheel drive, this new concept made the Golf a pioneer in the Volkswagen Group's compact class. The basic Golf Mk1 model was therefore just the start of a successful era that made history with subsequent generations such as the Pirelli GTI, the ‘Rabbit’ and the ‘Strawberry Basket’. A story worth telling on its 50th birthday!
