This year it’s been 40 years ago since the first Volkswagen Iltis left the assembly line. This off-road vehicle came as the follow up for the Type 181 mostly used by the German army. The Iltis was developed by Audi who later started the Quattro technology. The main customer for the Iltis was once again the Army who used it up until 1988.
