What do fire hoses, poker chips, and car tires have in common? All of them were or are produced by the Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company! In 1898, Frank Seiberling purchased a closed factory in Ohio, USA, and together with his brother Charles, laid the foundation for today's global company. They initially started producing bicycle and baby carriage tires and named their company after the American inventor Charles Goodyear. In 1901, they produced the first automobile tires, which were even used on Henry Ford's racing car. Today, Goodyear car tires stand for quality, safety, and reliability. The blue and yellow logo with the "winged feet," inspired by the Greek god Hermes, is now finally also part of the Volkswagen Classic Parts range, with this beautiful Goodyear Service XL tin sign.
